Nick Maggs

I have been a senior manager in large Government outsourced services and Utilities companies for over 23 years. I have been a Managing Director of several businesses and business units, led transformation programs and strategy at group level. I have either led or had senior involvement in a number of business sale processes and Management Buyouts and have worked in a number of different company structures; Private Equity and plc as well as a part of large corporates. I am a Civil Engineer and joined the UK division of the Irish Electricity Board (ESB) in 1995 as their lead Civil Engineer. I became the Managing Director of the UK division in 2001. After a strategic decision by ESB to exit all non-core activities, I established a Management Buyout and then led the sale of the UK business to the listed support services company, Enterprise plc, in 2005. I remained with Enterprise as Managing Director of the Power Services business unit. In 2007 the Enterprise management team and 3i executed an MBO. After the MBO I led on Strategy and Business Development of new markets. Also during this period, I undertook interim management of various P&Ls of either new businesses or those requiring a change program. In 2013 Enterprise was sold to Ferrovial and then merged with their existing UK services division, Amey. This created one of the largest UK based services businesses. Since joining Amey, I have undertaken the role of Strategy and Business Development Director for the Central Government and Utilities (CGU) division, a group role as Investment Director and Business Director for a number of sectors. I am a Statutory Director of a number of Amey companies and Joint Ventures.
