Born in Bilbao, married, father of three children and marathon runner. Rafael is a Telecommunications Engineer (Deusto University) and has completed high education programs at IESE, Georgetown University and the Massachussets Institute of Technology. He has a vast international experience in the Information and Communication Technology sector, having served as Head of Engineering, Business Manager for Asia Pacific and MENA, Smart City coordinator in France... for different firms such as IDOM or Telvent (Schneider Electric). Since 2013, he is the Senior Manager of our Competence Center dedicated to Cities, where he is leading the development and application of our intelligent cities model. Under our strategy, implementing the use of IT is pivotal for achieving efficiency in the provision of urban services and the development of new business models related to the city and its citizens.
