BIM, or Building Information Modeling, is an infrastructure creation system that requires the participation of each individual who is part of the modeling and construction process. It isn’t computer software, though it is closely related to data and information management. It does entail a digital transformation for architects, engineers, builders, developers, etc.
This methodology is capable of tracing the complete life cycle of a building, from its creation to its demolition. Those involved in the project must exchange information continually and transparently. This way, a virtual map of each aspect that affects or will affect the useful life of the structure is created to make the project safe, sustainable, and environmentally friendly.
